DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CHILD ABUSE
The Rev. Benetia Tekosky heads this ministry. She was called to the ministry in 1995. She attended the New York Conference Ministers’ Institute and was ordained a Local Deacon in 2000 and a Local Elder in 2002. She stated that the Lord spoke to her heart that there were those who wanted and needed to be connected or reconnected to God, but didn’t know how or where to begin the connection. Being out in the world so long and out of church fellowship was very frightening to them. Based on the scripture of Romans 8:31-39, nothing shall separate us from the love of God. People need to know that God wants them just the way they are. He will help them to change, to be better. So birthed was “Bridging the Gap.” Starting with a Women’s Bible Study, we later had a mini service and conference. The Lord has now extended my ministry to Domestic Violence & Child Abuse. We want to educate the church families and leaders on how and why we must be there for these broken vessels.
